The charter for the annual science fair has been held by UTC since 1953. In collaboration with the Chattanooga Engineers Club and the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, UTC co-sponsors and presents this event every spring.

The senior division top winners compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair. This year’s international competition will be held in Phoenix, AR, in June. The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair is a science fair and the largest pre-college scientific research event in the world, and is owned and administered by the Society for Science & the Public a 501 non-profit organization based in Washington, DC.

Annually, approximately 200 students from area middle schools, high schools, and home school settings take part in the fair and are eligible to receive awards in the many categories which are a part of the competition.
